Prerequisites: None. This course is sponsored by the southeastern Pennsylvania chapter of the American Red Cross.  The instructor is a certified instructor to teach the class.  This class is approximately 3 hours in duration and will teach the student how to effectively give CPR and rescue breaths to an individual who suddenly takes ill.  The student will learn how to save a choking victim as well as how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The certification will be valid for a 2-year period following the completion of this course.

Prenatal Massage

4 CE hours ($135)

The student will learn how to safely perform a massage on an expectant mother. We will discuss common myths regarding massage on a pregnant woman.  The class teaches the benefits, contraindications, changes in the expectant mother and draping procedures. It also includes massage techniques to use and avoid and covers Chinese medicine points that could possibly induce labor or cause other complications.

Effective Techniques of the Rotator Cuff

REIKI 2

4 CE hours ($135)

Prerequisites: Reiki 1.  This second class in the series teaches the student 3 Reiki symbols, when and how to use these symbols effectively and how to use Reiki for long distance healing.  The student will be attuned at the Reiki 2 level.  At the completion of this course, the student will be certified as a Reiki 2 Practitioner and may continue the practice of energy healing on a wider scale.

REIKI 3

4 CE hours ($175)

Prerequisites: Reiki 2.  Also known as Reiki Master-Teacher level, this is the last in the series of Reiki attunements.  In this class the individual will learn two additional Reiki symbols and will receive their final attunement.  At the completion of this course, the student will be a certified Reiki Master-Teacher and will have the knowledge and understanding of the Reiki method of healing in order to effectively teach all three Reiki levels.

Aromatherapy 1

This introductory offering will review and explore basic essential oils chemistry, basics of essential oil botany and have hands on practice utilizing essential oils, discerning single oils from blended oils in their environment and bodywork sessions with their clients.

Aromatherapy 2

3 CE hours ($80)

This introductory offering will review current information about the historical as well as current use of essential oils and medicinal plants in everyday health and wellness.  The participant will explore how essential oils can be integrated into their existing personal and professional practice.  The participant will review current guidelines with regard to obtaining various tiered certification and entry level requirements for formal licensure.  Students will have the opportunity to experience essential oils first hand. 

Please note that Aromatherapy 1 is NOT a prerequisite for Aromatherapy 2.

Lymphatic Massage

6 CE hours ($150)

This introductory offering will review current information about lymph edema as well as other forms of edema experienced by clients. Comprehensive anatomy and physiology review along with Paso physiological contraindications with safe fluid mobilization techniques will be covered in depth. Participants will have the opportunity for hands-on practice and return demonstration of safe massage techniques learned.

Deep Tissue Massage

6 CE hours ($150)

The student will learn the proper table height, body mechanics and techniques to effectively perform a deep tissue massage.  We will discuss the muscles involved and the specific locations of where and how to apply the technique.

Ethics

4 CE hours ($135)

The student will learn the ethical and moral way to act as a therapist and how to apply ethical principle in business.  This class meets all the requirements of NCBTMB and the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Hot Stone Massage

4 CE hours ($135)

The student will learn the proper way to perform this modality.  We will discuss contraindication, pathologies that would be contraindicated as well as learning the benefits and indications of a hot stone treatment.

INTRO TO THAI MASSAGE

6 CE hours ($150)

This class will teach the student how to provide Thai Massage that includes assisted stretching movements, rocking, jostling, compression, range of motion, percussion, energy principles, static compression using fingers, brief posture assessment with smooth and fluid transitions. Tuning into the limitations of the client and improving flexibility and releasing chronic tension.

Neuromuscular Therapy of the Hips and Knees

6 CE hours ($150)

The student will learn how to perform NMT on all the muscles that control the hips, knees and ankles.  We will discuss the muscles involved and the specific locations where to apply the technique.

Reiki 1

4 CE hours ($135)

Prerequisites: None.  This is the first of a three part series of classes that teaches the student how to use energy in the healing process.  The student will be attuned at this level.  At the completion of this course, an individual will be a certified Reiki 1 Practitioner and may practice this healing work on themselves and other individuals.

Therapeutic Massage

6 CE hours ($150)

This class will teach the student how to perform Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF). Myofascial Release will help to remove the fascial restrictions in the muscles, fascia and connective tissue.  Neuromuscular Therapy removes trigger points quickly by adding the principles of neurological laws to assist in their fast release.  PNF is the best stretching technique available because it reprograms the Golgi Tendon Organs, which allow for greater range of motion. It is the most effective way to bring pain relief and increase range of motion to your clients. Don't miss this class!!! This class can be modified to your specs. Call for details.

Trigger Point Therapy

6 CE hours ($150)

The student will learn how to perform Trigger Point Therapy on the body.  We will review the difference between TPT and NMT.  We will discuss the muscles and locations of the trigger points.

REGISTRATION POLICY

You MUST register and pay TWO WEEKS PRIOR to the class to attend. If less than 2 weeks, please call (267) 269-7388 to verify the class is still on. Last minute sign-ups, and those wishing to pay on the day of the class, will incur a $25 charge.

Your receipt of payment is your confirmation of attendance.

Any scheduled class that has not reached its minimum attendance 14 days prior, will be canceled. Anyone registering for the class less than 14 days prior to the class MUST CALL prior to registering to verify the class will still be held!

All participants will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the class and only after payment is made in full. The certificates will be available at the end of the class for those who are registered and paid in full 14 calendar days prior to the date of the class. Anyone registering or paying after the 14-day point will have their certificates mailed to their home address.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We reserve the right to cancel the class when the required minimum enrollment is not met. Earliest notification will be given and the participant will be given the option of a full refund or full credit towards another class.

Cancellations received at least 5 working days prior to the class are refundable less a $40 administrative charge per registrant. For cancellations received in less than 5 days, a refund will be made less 50% of the class fee per participant.

Please note: If you register and pay for a class and you fail to attend without notifying us prior to the class, you are liable for full payment. No credit or refund will be given!

All returned checks will be assessed a $35 insufficient funds fee.
