About the Therapists

Ed Portley is an author and an award winning licensed massage therapist who is board-certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (http://www.ncbtmb.org/). Ed provides medical and corrective massage to individuals seeking pain relief and rehabilitation from injuries, accidents and surgeries.  Ed has extensive experience in helping people achieve their goals. He can help you too!

He is a published author of "Understanding the Body Language" which explains how physical problems, conditions and ailments are caused by our negative thoughts, emotions, beliefs and feelings.  

Ed has worked with a professional sports team massaging the athletes after games and practices.

Ed is a massage educator with over 11 years’ experience teaching more than 600 students to become licensed massage therapists. He currently teaches advanced techniques to massage therapists through continuing education, which is required for massage therapists to renew their licenses.

Ed is certified in prenatal massage and is a certified Reiki Master-Teacher.  He has been trained in Touch For Health 1.  He is a CPR Instructor for the American Red Cross

He is trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (http://www.emofree.com/) and (http://www.eftuniverse.com). He has completed the advanced level of training and is able to assist individuals who would like to try an alternative technique to help relieve emotional issues. Due to his belief that healing the mind and soul as well as the body, he as now incorporated EFT, Touch For Health and other energy healing methods to his practice. 

He was instructed in the art of massage therapy at the National Massage Therapy Institute in Philadelphia and started his business in January of 2006. He is insured by the American Bodyworks and Massage Professionals (http://www.abmp.com/).

He chose this profession because he enjoys making people pain free and help them to lead healthier lives. He has been effective in allowing people more independence and freedom to walk, run and work without restrictions. He enjoys teaching and guiding massage therapists in the art of medical, therapeutic and rehabilitative types of massage.
